Ingredients
1 tablespoon plus ¼ teaspoon sesame oil, divided (15 mL + 1 mL)
1-¼ teaspoons finely minced garlic, divided (7 mL)
¼ plus 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, divided (1 mL + 0.5 mL)
Dash ground red pepper
1 lb. DOLE® Asparagus, trimmed (450 g)
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce (30 mL)
1 teaspoon sugar (5 mL)
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seed (10 mL)
Directions
Preheat broiler. Line 15 x 10 inch (40 x 15 cm) jellyroll pan with foil.
Stir together 1 tablespoon (15 mL) sesame oil, 1 teaspoon (5 mL) garlic, ¼ teaspoon (1 mL) ginger and red pepper in shallow dish. Toss asparagus in oil mixture and arrange on jellyroll pan.
Mix together soy sauce, sugar, remaining ¼ teaspoon(1 mL) garlic and 1/8 teaspoon (0.5 mL) ginger in small bowl, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Stir in remaining ¼ teaspoon (1 mL) sesame oil.
Broil asparagus 6 inches (15 cm) from heat about 8 minutes or until lightly browned and tender, turning once.
Place asparagus on serving platter. Stir soy sauce mixture and drizzle over asparagus. Sprinkle with sesame seed.
